I beg to express my gratification at His Excellency's intention to bring the pubject to the notice of Her Majesty's Government.

In reply to your request that I would inform you of my own position with respect to ordination, and of the Constitution of the Body frequenting the Union Chapel, F beg to state that I was ordained to the ministry, in London, in 1839, according to the forms observed by

Congregational Dissenters. In 1849, at the unanimous call of the members, I undertook the pastoral oversight of the Church worshipping in the Union Chapel. The

one Denomination, but to be a house in which, in this distant Colony, Christians from different lands and of different denominations unted in the faith of the great doctrines of Christianity, might meet to hear the preaching of the wood, and to observe the Ordinances of the Gospel.
